Beaches around Sorrento

The Sorrento Coast and its beaches are famous for their crystal clear waters and the typical Mediterranean vegetation in which they are immersed.

Along the Coast of Sorrento, you’ll find many coves set between cliffs, where you can spend some time to relax and sunbathe in nothing but tranquility. The beaches around Sorrento are different from the usual beaches: mainly composed of pebbles instead of sand and all of them have great bathing establishments, perfectly equipped to suit your needs.

The most beautiful beaches are definitely those reachable only by sea, as they are less crowded and still unspoiled.

Below we have selected for you the best seaside resorts and beautiful beaches of the Sorrentine Peninsula according to the advice of locals:

La Solara

This beach is only reachable by foot and accordingly it is less crowded respect to all the other beaches of Sorrento.

In this area, there was once a majestic seaside villa of the Roman era from the first century BC. Today, it is only possible to visit the ruins.

The beach is often frequented by those who love to practice naturism and is well known by the gay community of the area, which often finds itself here.

Marina Piccola & Marina Grande

Then we have the two main beaches in Sorrento the Marina Grande and Marina Piccola, situated only a few steps away from the heart of town, there you’ll find out what it truly mean to swim in Sorrento water.

It is recommended that you access the beach from the communal villa through the stairs carved into the mountain or by the lift running only during summertime.

It is in Marina Grande that you’ll find our Apartment Coltur Suite.

Marina di Puolo

Next on the list are the beaches of Massalubrense, the most frequented by locals where you can relax in the sun, with light sea breezes caressing you.

Formed in part by pebbles and in part by sand, it is distanced only 2 km from the centre of Sorrento.

Marina di Puolo is equipped with beach establishments and there you’ll find some nice restaurants that offers local speciality, especially fresh fish dishes.

Nerano

We’ve now come to what is considered to be one of the most beautiful seaside areas of Italy, Nerano.

Composed of endless beaches and popular among worldwide VIPs, the Nerano bay is a true corner of heaven on earth.

The bay is composed of diverse beaches, all formed of pebbles, clear water and rocky bottoms which renders it ideal for swimming, snorkeling and diving.

Positano

Of course we then have Positano, one of the most patronized spots by tourists, with its very characteristic town streets and alleys which lead you to some of the most wonderful, limpid water beaches you’ll ever see.

Come dive into these magical waters, at Marina Grande Beach of Positano and experience this Mediterranean paradise.

Meta

Meta is the only town of the Sorrentine Peninsula that boasts a comfortable sea access with an extensive beach and equipped beach establishments.

Different to the rest of the peninsula, whose territory is characterised by a rocky coast, Meta consists of a beach with a large stretch of sand where you can comfortably spend a day under the sun, choosing one of the establishments or rest in one of the free areas of the beach.
